How did you guys meet?

We met at school, Marymount University.

What is your favorite way of spending time together?

We cook, it’s our bonding time. Cafeteria food is never anything astounding, so we do our weekly grocery shopping together. We pick two new recipes for the week, and it’s always some kind of learning experience as well as a ridiculous amount of fun. It’s really cool to watch our skills grow on a hobby we’re both interested in.

We’re also pretty outdoorsy, hiking and exploring are pretty common for us. It’s a good way to escape school for a bit. We’ll scope out new museums, and try to find new picnic spots along the Potomac riverbank; we keep busy.

Do you remember your first date?

It was kind of an impromptu date, actually. He insisted on walking me back to my dorm after hanging out with a group of mutual friends. We were talking about shot gunning smoke (I had a little vape pen). I claimed it was cliche movie trope, always some line for the slick guy to kiss the unsuspecting girl. He responded that I wouldn’t know if it worked unless I tried. I was sure I could take that challenge. We shotgunned, he kissed me, I blushed. Cheesy. But damn, cheesy works. We spent the next four hours outside, huddled up against the cold- talking about everything and nothing. Before parting ways that night, he turned to me and said, “I think we’ll look back on this night and know it was the start of something special”.

It’s been two years and we’re still gross like that.

If you could describe your relationship in 3 words, what would they be?

Cherishing.

Fulfilling.

Communicative.

3 fun and random facts:

  1. We’re planning a trip to Thailand in the summer.
  2. We’re trying to become more minimalistic, and are thinking of buying flip phones.
  3. We bicker about silly stuff like whether to toilet paper should be pulled from the top or the bottom of the roll.
